“If you ever need a helping hand, you’ll find one at the end of your arm. As you grow older you will discover that you have two hands. One for helping yourself, the other for helping others.”
-Audrey Hepburn (1929 – 1993)
If you do not love yourself and do not consider yourself worthy, you certainly cannot expect it to receive the same from others. If you do not love yourself, you cannot love anyone else. This is an injustice you do to your family who always shower their love and care on you. Love begins in you and then it radiates outside. Hence first love yourself and then only you will be able to appreciate the world and its beauty.
I have seen people – both men and women who hate themselves on looking at the mirror. What I wonder is do they hate themselves because of their looks or because the kind of person they are.
The look and feeling before leaving the house very often decides how you feel for the entire day. Most people should feel that they look good. This will begin their day on a positive note. After you are done for the day, think about the interaction you had with people and you will be satisfied since you dealt with confidence. But when you feel like no one should meet you or see you since you don’t look good that day it can change a lot of things. It is on these days only that you will meet people at every place and this will further worsen your mood.
The most important judgment you make is about yourself. Hence don’t judge yourself based on physical aspects or your past experiences which are bad. Be confident and love yourself for what you are. The principles and the belief system you have will help you create happiness in other people’s lives.
